Shrinkage behaviour of films
Depending on the manufacturing conditions of films, different orientations occur in them. Among other things, these influence the shrinkage behaviour.
To determine the length change in longitudinal and transverse orientation of a film, circular samples are taken and heated.
Due to the different length change behaviour, the circular sample can deform into an elliptical body and information about the anisotropy of the film can be obtained.
Sample preparation
- Punching of round test specimens with labelling of the orientation
Test conditions
- Temperature range: room temperature up to approx. 300 °C
